Notice of Error: The Ducky Parade Crib Quilt

(Canadian Quilter Magazine version only)

Hi quilters, there is a mistake in the Canadian Quilters version of the Ducky Parade Crib Quilt (as far as I know, there are no errors in the original Ducky Parade Crib Quilt instructions). The original design had to be slightly edited for space constraints and an error crept in. A single fraction got jumbled, but the effects on the finished quilt can be significant. Please see the following steps to correct the error.

  • If you have not started the quilt yet simply change step 3 on page one to the following:

  • Cut along the drawn line to make two squares. Iron the seam towards the blue. Trim to exactly 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". (That is, Three-and-a-half inches by Three-and-a-half inches). No further adjustment is then required.

  • If you have already assembled the Marsh Grass rows and are now piecing the ducky rows to them you will have noticed your Marsh Grass rows are not wide enough by 2". To correct this do the following:

Add a 1 1/2" x 3 1/4" rectangle of green to each end of the two Marsh Grass rows. (That's One-and-a-half inches by Three-and-one-quarter inches)

Add a 24 1/2" x 1" strip to the water at the bottom of the quilt (That's Twenty-four-and-a-half inches by One inch). You must add this water strip in order for the borders to fit on later.

We all apologize for this error and hope that these corrections will help you see your project through to a happy finish.

Yours,

Brenda and The Canadian Quilter Magazine
