~Among Brenda's Quilts~

Hungry Hollow

I do get inspiration from nature. My dog makes certain that I lift my head from the sewing machine for at least an hour a day for her walk. There is simply no nicer place to walk than the nearby Fossil Road in Hungry Hollow. In October, when the leaves turn colour, it is especially spectacular. This really is a magical place, along the Sable River.

I've been taking pictures of trees, leaves and berries for a quilt series that I'm designing (see The Gardener's Journal). I'm doing redwork blocks of the leaves, and incorporating them into a log-cabin design. When the series its finished, I hope to have four seasons quilted. Maybe I'll have pictures of Hungry Hollow in four seasons, too. Watch for them here.

Autumn comes to Hungry Hollow.
