'The Canadian Quilter' magazine for Spring 2007 has an article by Paulette Eccleston on yours truly as a Canadian Quilting Designer. They are featuring one of my own original designs in the issue: A Ducky Parade Crib Quilt.
Paulette had asked me to submit a baby quilt, or crib quilt - something we all make and give away, but something that few recent quilt designers have taken the time to design. I really had a lot of fun with this project, and I hope you do too.
The magazine had to edit my instructions for space and unfortunately a tiny but significant error occurred. If you are making this quilt from the magazine instructions, please have a look at the correction page. As far as I know, there are no errors in the original design.
These are a few photos of me when I was making the baby quilt myself. I try to get a few photos of every new quilt I make, and post them on my ufo page.
As well as being a nice baby quilt, this quilt could double as a wall hanging, because of its folk-art qualities. It will become a keepsake as your little one grows!
I used batik fabric made by Toronto based Cador Textiles exclusively for its soft tones and happy feel.
