Tie A Ribbon July 11, 2010

The yellow ribbon tied around the 'old oak tree' has for many years represented homecoming and the end of long absences. In the 90's this idea developed into the crossed red ribbon representing AIDS awareness. Today there are as many ribbons and variations in ribbon color as there are causes and diseases. Each one expresses the empathy and the awareness of the wearer.

It is my hope that the making of this bag will encourage others to start their own personal positive action campaign making use of their unique and diverse talents.

A portion of the sale of this pattern will be donated to the Cancer Society.

It's a bird, it's a plane... June 16, 2010

No, it's Harry trying to get into the chicken coop! After pacing around he eventually did settle down right on the chicken wire to survey his domain and the new subjects.

Harry has actually been in the coop a couple of times but not when the chickens have been out. I do believe his majesty is a little chicken of the chickens.

Feeling Groovy August 17, 2010

I recently got a nice picture of one of my bags modeled by Breana at The Quilts of Gee's Bend show at the London Convention Center. This cute little bag is the Bag-ette (ABQ-127) and it's been made with four fat quarters from Westminster Fabrics.

Breana and her Mom are going to be making a Bevy Bag for Breana to carry her books to school in. The Bevy Bag will also carry a notebook computer, and iPad or a Kindle. It's also got room for all your purse belongs too! Thanks for modelling Breana!

It Never Rains in California... April 28, 2010

I recently designed a fun and easy quilt for Hoffman California Fabrics called California Rain. This pattern is free to anyone by going to the Hoffman California Fabric site. Sandi M. has made the quilt using beautiful batiks and they look spectacular!

If you would like a copy of California Rain click on the picture of Sandi's quilt. It takes a few moments to download so just be patient!
