~Among Brenda's Quilts~

Show and Tell

If you have a digital picture of a project you have made from one of my patterns please email it to me at millbr@sympatico.ca and I will put it on this web page for others to enjoy.

Every month in 2008 I will draw from the monthly submissions for a free ~Among Brenda's Quilts~ pattern. Now taking submissions for the July Draw! Have a look at who won so far this year, or last year's show and tell, and the various winners. Or check out last month's show and tell.

Here is Lisa with the bistro bag she made in our latest one-day class. She was enthusiastic: "I knew I was going to have fun in this class, but I didn't know I'd have *this much* fun!" Aquaintences had that 'huh?' look on their face when she told them what she was going to do this weekend. Now she has the bag to show them - and the smirk to go along with it, knowing how much fun it is to make your own bistro bag in a day. Thanks, Lisa: it is so much fun for me to watch someone learn how much fun it is to unleash their creativity.

Christine is donating this bag to an auction to help a local choir. She wasn't sure about the purple at first, but we told her to just 'go for it' - besides, she wasn't keeping it for herself. But, once she had it made, she began to have second thoughts about giving it away, it turned out so nice...

Karen made a marvelous bistro bag at our recent one-day class. Click on the picture above to have a look at the detailed embroidery stitching. Her sewing machine was capable of doing some interesting stitches, and they fit right in with her choice of fabric. Wonderfully artistic!

Here is Anne's "2B Bag" - very brightly coloured, with cloth straps. As these bags can be anything you want them "to be", I expect to see the individual personality of everyone who makes them readily apparent. This is a great start. Thanks, Anne!

Here is one of my latest designs, the "2B Bag", made by Bonnie. Bonnie has used charm squares for her textile of choice, and it looks great.

Be sure to have a look at some of the previous year's show-and-tell quilts.
