Quilts for the twin babies Lots of different activities have been taking place in and around the ABQ Sewing Studio this past week. Inside, I've been hustling to finish off two baby quilts for the twins who are expected to arrive anytime. I resized my Piccadilly Quilt pattern to suit the size of animal squares on a cute cotton panel I purchased a couple of years ago. Using the Baby Lock Destiny I free-motion quilted both over a couple of days. Although I am not a very practiced free motion quilter I think the results were pretty good. When I was young I had a recurring nightmare where I would not be ready for an upcoming event – usually a math test. I'd wake up with this very unsettled feeling like something was left undone. With all the work preparing the studio I am very relieved to have the baby quilts done and ready for delivery. No more worries about not being prepared! Another zipper shipment on the way! I was looking for furniture to repurpose for the ABQ Sewing Studio. Imagine my surprise when I opened a door and discovered an old dance hall and meeting room.
We are making good progress on the new ABQ Sewing Studio. Repurposed furniture inside, a repaired brick exterior wall, and a fresh look for the front entrance.
Cleanup began the day after a bad windstorm brought down half the bricks on the side of the building that will house the new ABQ Sewing Studio.

ABQ's new space will have room for zipper and hardware stock, pattern printing, shipping, office, sewing space and most importantly, teaching space!
